Heritage Ohio Programs

Heritage Ohio offers a wide variety of programs to support preservation and revitalization in Ohio. Since 2002, we have been the State Coordinating agency for the Ohio Main Street Program (OMSP), under Main Street America. Through OMSP, we present quarterly Revitalization Workshops in program communities, focused on the Main Street four-point approach. Historic preservation and advocacy is our other focus, through community workshops, educational sessions, an annual conference, and a monthly webinar series, we cover funding, technical assistance, best-practices, marketing, preservation programs and heritage tourism. We regularly make assessment and assistance visits to Ohio communities to help them craft a plan to preserve their history.

Heritage Ohio is also the leading advocate in Ohio for the State Historic Preservation Tax Credit Program, which we helped found in 2006. We regularly hold advocacy visits on Capital Hill to support the Federal Historic Preservation Tax Credit program, and other preservation and history funding sources.
