North Water Street in downtown Kent was known as a destination for live music. In the mid-1970s, a series of f ires tore through and the area never fully recovered. With a vision to restore the area to prominence, community members came together to hold a Better Block event. The Kent Better Block event, held in September 2018, allowed the Kent community to temporarily reshape and re-imagine North Water Street in the hopes of sparking a larger conversation and interest in the area.
