Ron Burbick truly has been the leader in Kent’s revitalization. He has put his heart, soul, and checkbook into all of his efforts. Ron began his rehabilitation efforts in 2008 with a single historic building. Then he built the popular Acorn Alley, which houses dozens of businesses. Then it was on to the rehabilitation of the historic Franklin Hotel, and most recently, Kent’s old train depot. He doesn’t do just the buildings, he is actively involved in the recruitment or start-up of the businesses. Ron helped get Kent Main Street off the ground 12 years ago and he continues to sponsor beautification projects and special events throughout the downtown. We are thrilled to recognize Ron for all the work he has done for Kent.
